ABOUT
Dear Stranger, With Love is a new project started as an outlet for anonymous inspiration and life direction. For anyone who has ever found the kind words of a stranger to be helpful, or found a note in the margins of a library book to be inspirational, this one is for you.
WHAT WE DO (AND HOW YOU CAN TOO)
Any stranger at any time in any place in the world may write on an index card (or something bearing the same molecular integrity.) This index card can say anything. It can simply say what you did today, it can be a poem, a word of encouragement, or it can be a secret you’ve withheld for a very long time. We simply ask that it be positive of nature, and kept within the realms of the inoffensive.
Address your card “Dear Stranger” and sign your card “With Love”, and include a link to this blog somewhere in between so that we may continue to grow. Place your card (inconspicuously) between the pages of a book in your local library and know that you have brought a little bit of joy to a life you may not have otherwise been able to reach.
IF YOU’VE FOUND A DEAR STRANGER, WITH LOVE CARD
Do what you need to do with it. Carry it around for a week. Take a picture. Wonder about who wrote it. Be inspired to make your own. Sign the back of it with your name and the date you found it and put it back. Maybe not in the same book, maybe not in the same library, maybe not in the same town, maybe not in the same country, but put it back between some pages so it can be passed on. If you place it in a book outside of its original town, make sure along with your name you write where you found it.
WHEN A CARD IS FULL
When there is no longer any room for you to sign your name on the back, it is yours. Be honoured. If you do not wish to take the card you can place it in another book until it falls into the hands of someone who does. Please consider replacing the card with one of your own to keep the same amount in circulation, but of course it is not mandatory!
WHAT THIS BLOG IS ABOUT
This blog is simply about educating people on this project, and keeping a database online of all our stories shared. When you place a card, please submit a picture/scan
here, we can keep this completely anonymous. When you find a card, feel free to submit stories
here of what you did with it, how it touched you, pictures of where you found it, a scan of the dates on the back, absolutely anything you can think of! And, of course, don’t hesitate to contact us
here with your thoughts on the project and any improvements you would like to see made. We would love to hear from you!
